Matt Samler

As managing partner and executive managing director of Vista Site Selection, Matt leads Vista Site Selection with a focus on operational excellence, strategic growth, and delivering unmatched value for Vista's clients. With nearly 20 years of experience, Matt oversees the end-to-end operations of the firm, ensuring Vista remains at the forefront of data analytics, incentives negotiation, and project implementation, helping businesses identify optimal locations, secure financial incentives, and navigate complex regulatory landscapes—driving efficiency and maximizing value.

Matt is passionate about leading high-performing teams, optimizing business operations, and ensuring our clients achieve their strategic goals through smart, data-driven location decisions. Matt has also successfully negotiated and secured billions in incentives and facilitated site selection for millions of square feet of projects, having worked projects in almost every state in the U.S.

In addition to participating as both a board member and early-stage investor in multiple startups located throughout the US, Matt has spent over a decade as a volunteer in SMU's Cox School of Business Mentorship program, where he has had the privilege of mentoring many gifted undergraduate students over the years.

Matt holds a J.D. from St. Mary's School of Law and a B.A. in Finance from the Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business. Admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2007, he is currently a nonpracticing member. He also holds a real estate salesperson license in Texas and maintains citizenship in the United States, Canada and England.
